SiriusXM is looking for the best comic in Canada

Congratulations to Adam Christie, the winner of SiriusXM's 2019 Top Comic, who received $25,000, a guaranteed spot at three of Canada’s biggest comedy festivals in 2020: JFL NorthWest (Vancouver), JFL42 (Toronto), plus a TV spot at Just For Laughs Montreal 2020. He will also receive a booking at JFL Sydney.

Below are those hilarious few who made it to SiriusXM’s Top Comic Finale at JFL42. They’re all winners in our eyes…except for Adam Christie, who was the actual winner. And Sophie Buddle and Ola Dada, who were the runners up. The REST are all almost winners.

The winner will win $25,000

SiriusXM Canada is searching for Canada’s Top Comic! We’re bringing all the Finalists to Toronto to perform at the Finale at JFL42 where a panel of judges will choose one winner to take home $25,000 and the title of SiriusXM’s Top Comic 2019.

The winner will also receive a solo show at JFL42 and JFL NorthWest 2020, plus a TV spot at Just For Laughs Montreal 2020. He will also receive a booking at JFL Sydney. Two runners-up will receive TV spots at Just For Laughs Montreal 2020, a double-threat show at JFL42 2020 and a cash prize of $2,500 each.

And just for participating, we’ll be giving all the comics that audition a professionally recorded video of their audition.

HOW IT WORKS

SEMI-FINALS

Three comics from each audition night have been chosen to be our Semi-Finalists and their live audition videos have been posted on this site for a nation-wide vote.

VOTING

Starting August 9 and over 3 weeks, Canada will vote for their favourite performance videos from all Semi-Finalists. The 6 with the most votes will become Finalists, plus we’re picking 2 wild cards from the bunch.

WINNER

All 8 finalists will perform live at the SiriusXM Top Comic Comedy Finale during JFL42 on September 26th and a panel of judges will select one winner to be crowned SiriusXM’s Top Comic.

What’s the prize?
The winner will also receive a solo show at JFL42 and JFL NorthWest 2020, plus a TV spot at Just For Laughs Montreal 2020. He will also receive a booking at JFL Sydney. What about the rest?
There will be two runners up, both getting TV spots next year in Montreal, and will be paired up as a double-threat for the following JFL42.
